In brief

Most compliance work is delivered as documents. The assessment is a report, the register a spreadsheet, the evidence a folder of certificates. All three start going out of date the day after they are produced. The annual scramble to reassemble them is not an administrative irritation. It is why positions get misstated to boards.

We hold the same information as data. What is required, of which asset, how often, what was done, when, by whom, and what proves it. Reporting is generated from that record instead of assembled before a meeting, and the question "where do we stand" stops being a project.
